The Senior VAT Compliance Tax Analyst will be part of an International Indirect Tax Compliance team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions within the EMEA region. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with financial systems, accounting processes, and tax-related data.
The position involves preparing and reviewing VAT returns, supporting tax audits, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to improve and automate existing compliance processes. The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned activities, contribute to process enhancements, and support the implementation of efficient VAT compliance solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, analyse, and submit EMEA VAT returns and related tax filings.
- Prepare and manage Intrastat reporting requirements where applicable.
- Coordinate VAT registrations across different jurisdictions.
- Support VAT compliance-related queries from business teams operating across EMEA.
- Review and improve VAT processes, identify potential issues, and recommend effective solutions.
- Prepare and review monthly VAT account reconciliations.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, including data gathering and analysis.
- Collaborate with accounting, tax, finance, and other business teams to ensure accurate VAT compliance.
- Support the preparation of tax requirement documentation for technology and process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional projects focused on automation, process optimization, and increasing operational efficiency.
- Support business growth initiatives and the onboarding of new entities into VAT compliance processes.

- Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in VAT advisory, VAT compliance, indirect tax, or a related tax function.
- Strong understanding of VAT principles, compliance requirements, and tax reporting processes.
- Experience with preparing, reviewing, and submitting VAT returns and related filings.
- Knowledge of VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions is an advantage.
- Experience with VAT registrations, Intrastat reporting, reconciliations, and audit support is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with financial data, identify issues, and provide effective solutions.
- Experience working with accounting systems, financial processes, and month-end reconciliation activities.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality results within strict deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with a problem-solving approach and ability to drive process improvements and implement changes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to support internal and external audits and collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Accounting, and Technology teams.
- Fluency in English; Spanish, Italian, or French language skills are highly desirable.
- A recognised accounting or tax qualification (e. g. , CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT, or similar) is preferred.
